Alondra de la Parra returns as guest conductor for another concert with the Columbus Symphony. Joining her is 2008 Grammy Award winner James Ehnes on violin, as the symphony tackles Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto, recorded by Ehnes in 2006. Written for Iso Briselli, the son of a friend, it was performed by Curtis Institute of Music student Herbert Baumel in 1940. Experience an evening of virtuosic violin during this two-day musical line-up also featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 1.
