Internship

The Columbus Symphony is seeking a part-time, unpaid intern for their Public Relations department. The position can be tailored to a student's class schedule, but will ideally be 14-20 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from internship (intern will be responsible for any associated parking charges)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Desired qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills (must be able to scan, create PDFs, and use Microsoft Office, as well as possess internet research skills)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, professional) on the phone, in person and through electronic communication
  • Ability to multi-task and stay effectively on-task without constant direct supervision
  • Some knowledge of the non-profit world and/or performing arts and/or classical music is helpful but not necessary
  • All majors will be considered, but preference will be given to those studying Public Relations, Marketing, Communications and/or Media Studies.

Intern will have access to free tickets for most Symphony Events, and recommendation letter/professional reference upon successful completion of the internship. Otherwise, it is for college credit only, which must arranged through your college.
