Women's Association of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra (WACSO)
Founded in 1951, the Women’s Association of the Columbus Symphony (WACSO) is committed to fundraising, youth education, hospitality services and volunteer support.

Committee members for Passport to France.
To enrich the musical education of children and youth, WACSO plans hands-on activities preceding family concerts and arranges for students to attend concert performances. Each spring, the group provides a $500 cash award to the senior division winner of the Young Musicians’ Competition. Hospitality services include hosting dinners for visiting artists and orchestra members, providing refreshments for Side-by-Side rehearsals, and organizing annual appreciation luncheons and receptions for the musicians and the Chorus.
Four quarterly general membership meetings are held on Saturdays during lunch with a fee charged for food service. Meetings rotate at various venues in the Columbus area and the programs include a Symphony-related speaker or musical performance.
New members are welcomed year round. Dues are only $30 per year. Click here to download a membership form or Contact Assistant Treasurer Louise Carle at (614) 436-5234.

Annual Meeting of the Association
Location: Scioto Country Club (Upper Arlington)
The group's early years pre-date the Symphony’s official founding and can be traced to the Columbus Philharmonic (which disbanded in 1948). The Women's Association of the Columbus Philharmonic continued its fundraising with the goal of bringing a symphony orchestra to Columbus. Operating as an all-volunteer organization, enough funds were raised to organize the Columbus Little Symphony, which evolved into the present-day CSO.
